    レオンは重度の自閉症と診断されましたが、私たちは彼がどれだけ理解しているか全く分かりませんでした。彼はほとんど話さず、私たちが質問しても、彼は私たちの言葉に気づかなかったので、私たちの言葉を聞いているのかどうかは分かりませんでした。私たちは子供の世界を理解していませんでした。彼はきっと寂しい思いをしているのだろうとよく思いました。レオンが6歳のとき、私たちはバレンタインデーのカードを作っていました。愛とは何かを言葉で表現するのは難しい作業でした。私たちは彼に「愛」を描いてみるように頼みました。彼が「愛」について考えるときに何が思い浮かぶかを見て、そこから進めたいと思ったのです。彼はこの絵を描きました。衝撃を受けましたが、心が温かくなりました。レオンは理解しています。彼が私たちの愛情表現を理解できないのではないかととても心配していました。しかし、彼がこれを描いているのを見て、私の疑問は解決しました。私が彼を抱きしめるたびに、彼は私が彼を愛していることがわかりました。彼が私を抱きしめ返すと、私も彼も私を愛していることがわかりました。 シンプルですが、レオンの温かさが伝わってきます。この絵を皆さんと共有したかったのです。大切な人を抱きしめてあげてください :)
